Principal's Message

On behalf of Father Joseph, our parish priest, and the staff of St Michael’s Catholic Primary School, Nowra, I would like to extend to you a very warm welcome to our school website. Read more About Us.

Founded in the 1870’s by Catholic lay teachers and subsequently operated from 1893 by the Sisters of the Good Samaritan, this school is now administered by the Catholic Education Diocese of Wollongong under the jurisdiction of the Bishop of Wollongong. Our school has a wonderful Catholic tradition and many people of all ages fondly recall their primary years at St Michael’s. See What We Offer.

St Michael's is an educational and faith community in which the parish, school and parents work in partnership to provide a quality Catholic education for the children of the parish. In this community we endeavour to develop quality relationships, develop a love and practice of the Catholic faith, provide enriching learning experiences and establish effective care networks. Find out more about our Learning and Teaching.

Parents and carers are requested to:

  • support the goals of our Catholic school, its beliefs, values and religious practices;
  • ensure to the best of their ability that their child observes the rules and regulations established by the school for the welfare and safety of all; and
  • demonstrate their commitment to working in partnership with all staff members and clergy for the development of their child, both spiritually and academically. Meet our staff.

The purpose of this site is to inform you of some aspects of school life here at St Michael's and hopefully answer any questions you have. Please don't hesitate to contact the school office, or make an appointment to come and see me if you have any further queries.

Yours in Partnership,
