Pastoral Care and Student Wellbeing

At St Michael's we assist students to work towards their full potential spiritually, physically, socially, intellectually and emotionally.

PASTORAL CARE WORKER
As part of the funded school chaplaincy program the school pastoral care worker is Mrs Maryann Tweed who assists in the:


MSPEC TEAM
When teachers require assistance with a student's academic, behavioural, social or emotional situation they may refer the matter to the school MSPEC Team, consisting of the Principal, Learning Support teacher, SPB4L Team representatives, class teacher. This committee acts as a support for the teacher, making recommendations and monitoring outcomes.
If further assessment is required, by referral to, for example, an educational psychologist or speech pathologist, parents are contacted and an appointment is made to discuss how to further support the child and family.
SEASONS PROGRAM
At times the Seasons Program is offered for children who are suffering from grief or loss or separation. Parents are informed about the program at an information session and children require parental permission to attend. The program runs for about six weeks.
MEDICATION AT SCHOOL
For a variety of reasons students might require medication to be adminstered whilst at school. Legally this requires a Consent to Administer Medication form to be completed and returned to the School Office. Please download the form below by clicking on the link.
